More and more people are realizing the benefits of getting in a glass of green juice at some point throughout the day. The benefits are incredible! Multiple pounds of fruits and veggies are required to get one 16 oz glass of green juice so the amount of vitamins and minerals in that one little glass is through the roof! Green juices increase energy, make your skin glow, help with digestion, and so much more. However, what many people don’t realize is that there are different levels of benefit depending on when you consume the drink and what you have with it! So here are a few pointers to keep in mind to get the most bang for your buck when drinking your daily green juice:
– Drink it on an empty stomach – this will increase the absorption of the nutrients and also help the body to absorb them more quickly!
– If you must drink it with a meal, choose a meal heavy in veggies and stick to raw greens and veggies. This will help to generate the highest alkalinity in the body and therefore promote detoxification. Never drink your green juice with a cooked meal.
– Best option – drink your green juice first thing in the morning and do so either an hour before or an hour after your morning coffee. By drinking coffee too close to the time you consume your juice you negate the positive alkaline benefits of the juice due to the high acidity levels of the coffee.
