Amanda first started practicing yoga to gain flexibility and strength for her dance career. What began as a physical practice, soon transformed into a very meditative and healing practice for her mind and soul that captivated her interest. Amanda was drawn to the creativity inherently expressed in each unique sequence, the grace and strength experienced while flowing through each posture and the introspective aspect intrinsically present in yoga. From this moment on her movement practices became much more holistic and influenced by the philosophy of yoga and meditation.
Amanda has completed a 200hr certification through Core Power Yoga under the guidance of Jill Grogg. She is in the process of completing her 500hr training at YogaWorks, which includes a six month mentorship with Jennie Jalalat. Beyond these two trainings, Amanda has also been certified in Hot Yoga, Yoga Sculpt, Yin Yoga and has completed a 200hr training in Mat Pilates. She also studied Anatomy at Chapman University and has a background in Physical Therapy.
Amanda hopes to guide her students through an alignment and breath based practice that is playful, challenging and meditative. Her classes are inspired by her passion for anatomy and she strives to create a safe environment for students of all backgrounds and levels to practice in. Her goal each class is for her students to leave with a better understanding of their own body, a deeper awareness of their breath and a peaceful, steady mind.
