Going along with the GREEN theme of MARCH I’ve decided to share all of the incredible benefits of peppermint and how easy it is to get your hands on this stuff! Peppermint has a tremendous number of benefits from digestive properties to cooling the body and the skin. Here’s a list of just a few of the most regular uses:

You can get all these benefits from adding just a few drops of peppermint oil to hot or cold water or by simply chewing on a peppermint leave! Peppermint tea is also very popular and can easily be found at your local grocery store. If you do not like the flavor or if you prefer the ease of taking a pill , you can get a peppermint capsule (enteric coated is best to ensure that you do not receive heartburn from the supplement).

Though there are a number of benefits there are also cautions and some side effects to be aware of if using peppermint oil. Pregnant and lactating women should avoid using high doses of peppermint and peppermint oil due to little being known about their safety during this time. For everyone else, some side effects to be aware of include:
